Campfire Audio Andromeda 2020

Campfire Audio refreshed their most well-received model - Andromeda last year together with the launch of IO and Polaris II. This year, there is another refresh on this model. The nozzle is now (almost) the same as other models in the line up - new stainless steel spout is implemented on Andromeda. The length is slightly shorter as compared to other models. I think this could be the difference on the nozzle.

Besides the nozzle, there is a change in the internal design. Andromeda 2020 will adopt an "All new Solid-Body internal acoustic chamber design", which I believe is similar to what we can find in Solaris Special Edition. This might alter the sound signature a little just like what I experienced with Solaris SE - smoother and more relax. I am looking forward to audition this refreshed model soon!

Andromeda 2020 is an exciting new chapter for Campfire Audio most beloved earphones. Updating an earphone as a beloved as Andromeda is not a task they take lightly.

New Solid-Body design, first explored in custom fit products, is now enhancing our new Universal Fit line. This approach brings a new level of control to acoustic design.

While looking very much like previous versions of Andromeda, maintaining its classic angular silhouette and emerald-green finish, Andromeda 2020 is very different on the inside.

A single printed body now houses all of Andromeda 2020’s internal components. The interior and exterior spaces and the relationships between them are precisely sculpted to improved sonic performance. And the bonus of having the engineering doing the heavy lifting is fewer moving parts, and fewer moving parts mean reliable reference performance for the life of the earphone.

A new spout design keeps its distinctive short collar, but adds Campfire Audio signature grill pattern to keep your earphone debris free.

Zirconium blasted aluminum shells are finished in our classic emerald green anodizing; specially made for Andromeda.

Campfire Audio's exciting new premium cork protective zipper case is an environmentally friendly update. Sustainably harvested Cork surrounds a substantial and protective rubber barrier that ensures that your earphones will remain safe while in transit. The interior is a thick faux wool lining that preserves the anodized finish of your earphones. Each case is made in Portugal by a small team of skilled craftspeople that share Campfire Audio's commitment to quality.

The Cork used for the cases is the outer bark of the Cork Oak Tree (Cork Suberus L), and its extraction is harmless to the tree. The harvest occurs every nine years during the expectable lifetime of the tree (around 150 years). Harvesting the Cork of the tree is fundamental for the sustainability of the cork oak forests. A naturally durable material that feels good to hold in your hand.
